The plight of  a people group can not be altered over night. It takes time and a willingness to change and go another direction. The approach the Pine Ridge Reservation hasn't changed since they were first put on reservations in the 1800's, they are still waiting for the government to fulfill their treaties. In the mean time their families are living in below poverty levels. Nothing has changed, The mind set is still the same. Oh, there are more websites where  donations can be made to help the people, but then there is the waste from that help, and some break out and move to another place. But then they are called "apples". Red on the outside white on the inside. This phrase comes from those who view all things not done as it was in past Nativw life, and you embrace the "white" life style. There is also, if you can believe this, prejudice from those who deem Native Americans as lower than themselves.
I noticed a decline in the generations since the 1800's. The first generations that were put on reservations --not all mind you. What this article is about are those who are sitting on the reservation, who are held captive by years of captivity. Who can't seem to get out of the vicious circle that is transferred from one generation to another. Those with the mind-set that "In order for me to live a full life the government needs to fulfill all the treaties they have broken. That is the key to this whole issue, waiting on the government to make their life right or prosperous.
It isn't working. When an approach to a problem hasn't brought out the desired out-come,--in over 100 years..... than something else needs to be done.
Instead of looking at this from a human perspective I am choosing to look at this through the eyes of the Holy Spirit and Gods word. Most of the Natives go to churches planted there on Pine Ridge, most of which are Baptist and mixed with some of the Natives religious beliefs. So I am assuming they have believed in and hear the word of God, accepted Jesus into their hearts and are "born again into the family of God". With that said, why are they not reaping the benefits of being a child of God. Why are they still living in poverty of body, soul and mind?
As I read articles and news reports and also testimonies for those who spent some time on the Pine Ridge Reservation, I see a constant theme. This is what caused me to look at this situation from another perspective, because the way that is was being done hasn't brought out the change
In Gods word, He says "I came to give life and a life that is abundant" Ephesians 5:8...you were formerly in darkness, but now you are light in the Lord walk as children of light.. There are numerous scripture stating this same idea and thought from the Father.  But some of  the verses I want to look at have to deal with breaking away from our old nature and becoming a new person in Christ.
 We are to, as born again believers, walk by the spirit not by our flesh. This is how this "problem" has been dealt with, by the flesh, instead of taking a supernatural approach, or looking at it through the eyes of the spirit. Galatians 6: 7,8 Do not be deceived, God is not mocked for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap. For the one who sows to his own flesh shall reap corruption or fleshly outcome. but the one who sows to the Spirit reap eternal life vs, 16 ..for the flesh sets its desire against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh, for these are in opposition to one another...if you are lead by the Spirit walk by the spirit.
Colossians 2: 8.. see to it that..no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, according to the tradition of men according to the elementary principles of the world, rather than according to Christ......This is where I think they have been mislead. Going about this issue by the flesh and mans way of doing things instead SEEKING the Creator ,the Great Spirit.
Gods ways are not the same as mans ways, thank goodness. He is our salvation. He has a solution to this, a way out of poverty way of thinking and an abundant life, in all ways.
May your days be filled with His presence and may you walk by His Spirit and not the flesh.

Why has this Nation been so admired by some and so abused by others? Why can't this group of peoples pull themselves out of the depression, suicide, poverty, rape and murder, drugs, hopelessness and hunger?  Some have. Some live well. Going on to have business, fame and wealth. But there is a place in this USA that has more poverty and hopelessness than Africa. This places is call  Poverty Prairie by some, the real name is Pine Ridge Reservation, in South Dakota. The home of the Oglala Lakota.

 

 Let me just give you a few highlights of this area. :

Unemployment: at 80%

Homelessness: 30%..(on their own land)

In a one bedroom home you can find up to 16 people living together and 80% have no water or power. Next to this home you can find 23 people living in a 3 bedroom home.

Every 1000 children that are born, 29 die in infancy. This is 3 times the national average. Disease and illness are common among the people.

And I could go on. But I think you get a clear picture. What can be done to help? I have a few ideas. But will take the help of others. There are lots of online sites

which you can donate. I just posted one on face-book, that doesn't mean I endorse it. But so far this hasn't worked.

 

 Why?

 

Because it is in the people themselves.

 

One thing is a constant theme, is broken treaties by our government. But to be honest, even if the government did come through-------- I feel after a time the people, some------ not all -----more than less------would be right back into the pit of despair they were in before they received help,,,,,continued soon......

The Dark-side preys on those who are at a weak point in their life, or at a cross roads of decision. With advice like:  " go ahead they don't care, or " what does it matter, no one cares for you", or "who's going to know", or, "dying is better than living", or "just do it, it will make you feel better" and the list goes on, I think you get the point.....  at this junction, brings us back to our go- to Source. Who or what we listen to when we need help. Yes, family or friends are good, but where are they going to for their wisdom. There are many choices, but only two foundations. Two wells, so to speak.

 





 

Choosing the right path, the right Source is essential to our life. This picture shows the few choices the train has to take. Choosing the right one is essential to engineer. Essential by Webster means: absolutely necessary, extremely important, crucial, necessary, key, vital.  We will need the necessary keys that are vital to our decisions. What will be the outcome of your choice?

Keys open doors for us. Doors to the supernatural realm. It is in this realm we receive, joy, hatred, peace, love, self control, outlook, power, authority, death and life. Choose the right one today, and you will feel a difference in your atmosphere.



The Source of Your Wisdom

What is the source, your >go to< when you  need answers, when you hurt, feel fear, sadness, pain, confusion. Anytime you need an answer. Anytime you need advise. The what or who will give you the advise or direction you need. There are really only 2 true source's. Where your source receives his/her wisdom, what he/ she builds their wisdom on is of note worthy interest. Why? Because, one is from darkness and one is from light. There are a tremendous amount of places a seeker can find his or her answers,  but what is the foundation of your source.  Where do they receive the answers  they pass on to you? Is it from the light or darkness they receive wisdom?

Knowing this is of great value. Answers that will truly give you peace when you are confused or fearful, joy in the midst of trying times, strength when you are at your weakest point in life, courage to face anything and know that whatever the outcome it will be  "ok". Some answers look good for awhile, but have no lasting effect. They leave you empty. Deep down inside you still feel the pain, emptiness, fear, sadness, lack of courage and strength to face another day. Yes they may help for awhile. It's like putting a Band-Aid on a broken arm. The end result just isn't going to work or give you the desired outcome you need or want for that matter. 

Truly knowing where you receive your wisdom for life's challenges is something you need to look into for yourself. Find out the foundation of your sources wisdom.

I will share with you a little wisdom from my Source. I hope it gives you some answers for todays problems. My Source gives me courage everyday to face what lies ahead. I know the foundation of my Source comes from  light. My Source has never failed me. Maybe the outcome for a particular situation may have not come out the way I  envisioned it, but the end result: the best for me. I guess, trust is a major factor in our relationship. Do I trust my Source to give me the right wisdom at the right time with the right out come? This takes relationship. This takes time and effort.                                          
Trust in a foundation for any relationship. People will fail in this area, well, because we are people and we have a tendency to fail every now and again. (throughout  the day)....
Everyday I ask my Source for the wisdom for todays challenges and I try to keep an ear open to hear what I need. One thing I have learned is that kindness and truth need to be at the forefront of all I do. What I do needs to be done out of kindness not guile or deceit. Anything done on the basis of a lie will be found out eventually. Nothing can stay hidden forever. And truth. There seems to be a wide definition of what "truth" is. Truth is by Webster: the real facts about something the things that are true. The quality or state of being true. The problem with this answer is the real facts that make something true. We all see through a lens. If that lens hasn't been "cleaned" you won't see clearly. A dirty lens comes from hurts, trials, fears, pain anything life threw at us and stuck to us. I guess healing from past mistakes and pains would be good place to start receiving wisdom. Get the eyes to your heart healed so your heart can receive wisdom. Being healed means, having what brought the wound completely taken care of. Having the very core of our being soothed and restored to wholeness.

This is my prayer over you this day>< I declare over your heart and soul that any hurt you have received be healed, may all wounds be sealed over and completely healed. I declare the true Source release true healing upon the eyes to your heart. May you walk out today with a new sense of truth, healing and wholeness inside you. May you be surrounded with a safety net this week as you continue to heal and receive truth where you have been deceived. and may all you do be done with kindness in mind.
